What is it?
The Churchill Archive features more than 800,000 pages of private letters, speeches, notes, manuscripts, government transcripts and other primary source documents from between 1874 and 1965, ranging from Winston S. Churchill's personal correspondence to his official exchanges with kings, presidents, politicians and military leaders. Designed for both teaching and research, the collection will provide a wealth of secondary source and teaching materials as well as state-of-the-art online and interactive tools to engage everyone from university faculty and librarians to students, teachers, researchers, writers and enthusiasts. The Churchill Archive is unlike any other historical resource of its kind and has been referred to as “The holy grail of twentieth century archives.”
